Your privacy is important to me. Anything you share with me will be treated with care, kept securely and only used for the purpose for which it was provided.

As a practising Psychotherapist, I comply with current data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

I collect and use personal information to respond to enquiries, arrange appointments, provide therapy or supervision services, maintain appropriate records and meet professional, legal and insurance requirements.

Confidentiality. Everything you discuss with me is treated as confidential. Creating a space where you feel able to talk openly and honestly is an important part of therapy. There are, however, a small number of situations where confidentiality may need to be broken. These include where there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or another person, concerns about the safety of a child or vulnerable adult, where disclosure is required by law, or where information relates to serious criminal activity.Wherever possible, I will discuss any need to share information with you first and explain why. As part of good professional practice, I discuss my work in confidential supervision with a qualified Clinical Supervisor. This helps ensure that I work safely, ethically and in the best interests of my clients. Your identity is not normally disclosed during these discussions.

Storage of Information - I take appropriate steps to keep your personal information secure. Records are stored securely and retained in accordance with professional and insurance requirements before being safely destroyed.

Your Rights - You have the right to request access to the personal information I hold about you and to ask for any inaccurate information to be corrected.
